The company GHD Georg Hartmann Maschinenbau is one of the world's leading manufacturers of systems for cutting and packaging food. For the further development of a packaging machine with high processing cycles, a reliable energy supply with pneumatic and electric cables was required. In order to realise a very low bend radius, the choice fell on chainflex control and measuring system cables.

The company Axis Technology and Development has developed a semi-automatic harvesting system for mushrooms. The system sorts the mushrooms by size and packs them into bags - up to four times faster than humans. The company relies on the FDA-compliant TH3 energy chain and chainflex cables for the system's cable management.

In this system, bottles are separated via a conveyor belt, checked and ejected as required. As the products are very top-heavy, they occasionally fall over during transport, which leads to a jam in the ejection chute. After the ejection chute was provided with a tribotape liner, the frictional resistance was significantly minimised and the containers were prevented from falling over.

drylin linear technology was developed for lubrication-free and maintenance-free dry operation. Further advantages are:

The liners installed in the drylin linear bearings consist of tribopolymers that release lubricants over time as they move along the rail. This means that no external lubrication of the bearing technology is required, saving maintenance time and costs.

In beverage filling, the liners in the linear stroke of this capping unit have been completely covered. For even greater hygiene, these have been replaced with drylin special bearings, which have a special rough structure on the outer and inner walls. This means that the bearings are washed completely.

A manufacturer of packaging and processing machines has reduced the frictional resistance on a machine series, improved the rigidity, shortened the throughput times and increased the hygiene standards by applying an iglidur IC-05 tribo-coating to a sliding carriage.

Used in conveyor belts or the spherical bearings of multi-head weighers, for example, igubal spherical bearings are exceptionally durable. The advantages:

The renowned Belgian brewery Chimay, known for its traditional Trappist beer, relies on lubrication-free igubal H3 spherical insert bearings in its bottling plant instead of previously installed metal ball bearings, which constantly rusted, damaged the shafts and led to machine downtimes. Our tried and tested iglidur standard materials are now all available without PTFE. New additions are iglidur GPF, HPF and XPF, which extend our PTFE-free range to include a material for universal use, one for high temperatures and one for chemical contact.

In brewery plants for beer production, the bearing components used must fulfil various requirements such as high temperatures. The customer relies on plain bearings made from the FDA-compliant high-temperature material iglidur A500 to support the blades for slitting the spent grains.

If two conveyor belts are joined together at butt joints, there is a gap between which products can slip through or tip over on the conveyor belt. We therefore offer knife edge rollers for very tight deflection radii. Further advantages are:

In this all-round packaging line from Krones AG, very wear-resistant knife edge rollers are used in the belt deflection of the conveyor belts.

The iglidur material as a 3D printing filament or laser sintering powder is wear-resistant and self-lubricating. We always offer the right 3D printing material for a wide range of requirements, for example with FDA conformity, high chemical resistance or ESD suitability.

When a product change is due, Carecos Kosmetik GmbH has to have new grippers made for its packaging machines, which grip the lids and screw them onto the containers. It often takes weeks to produce a new, suitable gripper for a product change. It is 85 per cent more cost-effective and 70 per cent faster with robust and lightweight 3D-printed plastic grippers made of iglidur filaments.
