Vertical standing arrangement

Standing energy chains
In a standing arrangement, the energy chain moves vertically. The arc of the U is above the two fixed suspensions points. The chain takes on an inverted U-shape between the two fixed ends. The physics of the setup dictate that it can support short travels only

Technical details:
Maximum stroke height - without support≈ 4m
Maximum stroke height - with support from the
first energy chain links
≈ 6m
Maximum stroke height - with full support≈ 20m
Velocity v max
(depending on stroke height and fill weight)
20m/s
Maximum acceleration
(depending on stroke height and fill weight)
50m/s

What you should pay attention to in standing applications with energy chains

Mounting bracket

Mounting brackets

The mounting brackets must be attached so that the energy chain is rigid and cannot bow outwards. Our product range offers locking or one-sided locking mounting brackets for almost all types. Locking KMA mounting brackets are highly recommended because they can be attached flush to the machine.
Cables and hoses

Cables and hoses

Cables and hoses must be laid in the energy chain in such a way that they can move freely and bear their own weight. For precise cable and hose guidance, we strongly recommend interior separation elements. Cables must have strain relief at both ends.
Support

Support

In general, the energy supply system must be provided with an external support at the fixed and moving ends. For higher energy chain heights, it is generally recommended that at least the first three links on the outer radius be supported. For maximum heights and fill weights, the complete distance must often be supported.
