About igus
igus is a manufacturer of components made of high-performance polymers for motion, based in Cologne (Germany). We have been developing and producing motion plastics, innovative products made from lubrication-free plastics, since 1964. These include energy chains, cables, plain bearings, lead screw technology, robots and intelligent sensor technology, which help our customers to improve their technology and reduce costs. Most products are manufactured using the injection moulding process, from which the company name is derived: igus = Industriespritzgus (industrial injection moulding).
Our vision is to create a world without lubrication - with durable, maintenance-free plastic for movement that are CO₂-neutral, generate no waste and offer our customers the simplest collaboration: technically better, economically more favourable, ecologically sensible.

A world without lubrication
"Our vision is to create a world without lubrication - with durable, maintenance-free plastics for movement that are CO₂-neutral, generate no waste and offer our customers the easiest collaboration: technically better, economically more cost-effective, and ecologically sensible."
This is how Frank Blase, Chairman of the Board, summarises the vision of igus. Our customers, for whom we are constantly implementing new ideas, take centre stage. Every year we invent well over 200 new motion plastics products, always with the aim of improving what moves. We want to create durable products for movement that are lubrication-free, reduce weight and provide new, better solutions. We want to bring Cost down and Tech up for machine tools, cleanroom applications, cars, solar systems and much more.
