igus® supports Formula 1 in school teams

F1 in Schools car with igus logo and visible ball bearing in the foreground.

The school Formula 1 season has started again, and igus is pleased to be able to support many young teams as part of its young engineers support. Formula 1 at school is a project in which teams of students construct a miniature Formula 1 car with an electric drive and compete against other teams. For the wheels, the teams primarily use ball bearings that igus manufactures from high-performance plastics. They are maintenance-free and very smooth-running, making them ideal for race cars.

Do you need ball bearings for your team? But don't know which ones?

We have already supported many teams, so we can recommend the BB-623-B180-10-ES (with stainless steel balls) and BB-623-B180-10-GL (with glass balls) ball bearings. The GL version is lighter.

What do we expect in return for our sponsorship?

  • A post on social media mentioning igus® and our sponsorship
  • Our logo on the car
  • Our logo on your trade show stand
  • A short project report about your participation in the competition
