drygear® worm gears with accessories – precise positioning without a motor
The drygear® RL-D worm gears from igus are available in various sizes and configurations, offering maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications. A common feature of all variants is the integrated central bore for routing cables or lines, enabling a particularly compact and clean design.
All worm gears can optionally be combined with perfectly matched motor kits and initiator kits. In addition, accessories are available that allow the gearbox to be conveniently positioned by hand – ideal for adjustment, calibration, or positioning applications.
For manual adjustment, the drygear® worm gear can optionally be equipped with a handwheel. Depending on the requirements, various versions are available:
- Handwheel with fixed handle
- Handwheel without handle
- Handwheel with safety handle
- Handwheel with foldable handle
The handwheel enables controlled positioning of the output shaft, even with higher gear ratios. Manual adjustment provides a simple and safe solution, especially during commissioning, maintenance work, or in applications with infrequent position changes – entirely without electrical power.
In addition, the gearbox can be equipped with further features to make manual operation even more convenient:
- Position indicator for direct, easy-to-read display of the current position
- Hand clamp for fixing the set position
This combination allows for reproducible adjustment and ensures that the position is maintained even under external influences.
The worm wheel is made of tribologically optimized high-performance polymers and enables lubrication-free dry operation. The gearbox is therefore maintenance-free, clean, and durable. All sizes are suitable for applications with increased axial as well as radial loads. In addition, the variants can be equipped with either a single-sided or double-sided output turntable.
Thanks to their robust, corrosion-free design, drygear® RL-D worm gears with accessories are ideal for industrial applications, test benches, adjustment units, or machinery where precise manual positioning and maintenance-free operation are essential.
