Durable energy chains for RMG cranes

With large dimensions and often long travels, rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMG) must not be compromised in terms of availability and reliability. Efficient container handling requires reliable systems, especially in the area of cable guidance. With intelligent solutions in the field of energy chains, including guide troughs, clamps for strain relief or cables, we support the industry in achieving this goal.

Roller energy chain P4.1

The P4.1 rol e-chain series make it possible to increase plant safety and availability. There is a bearing point for a pivoting movement in every chain link connection. This point has now been re-equipped with maintenance-free high-performance polymer plain bearings, which more than double the service life.

Condition monitoring with i.Sense

The intelligent i.Sense sensor system and software monitors the condition of the energy chain on the crane around the clock. While heavy loads, long operating times and severe weather mean high loads for STS cranes, i.Sense helps to ensure operational safety. In the event of problems, the software can initiate an emergency stop to prevent major damage.

CFXL chainfix clamps

Since RMG cranes often have particularly long travels, high loads and forces prevail, especially in the area of energy supply. In order to relieve the heavily stressed cables in the chain, chainfix clamps are used. With simple retrofitting, they allow strain relief even for hoses and cables with large diameters.

Energy chain systems instead of festooning, motor cable drums and busbars

Energy chains systems instead of festooning Energy chain systems instead of festooning
Provide guidance for cables and energy chains while keeping them protected and safe in wind and fluctuating temperatures. This minimises downtime.
Energy chain systems instead of motor cable drums Energy chain systems instead of motor cable drums
No slip ring on long travels. Guide all media safely in one system. Travels of up to 1,000 metres.
Energy chain systems instead of busbar systems Energy chain systems instead of busbar systems
Deliver data, energy, fluids and air safely in a single energy chain system. For narrow compact spaces and fast lane movement.

Successful application stories with RMG cranes

RMG crane

Retrofit for 17 indoor gantry cranes

The freely "hanging" festoonings on steelworks cranes were replaced by energy chains. The new system is specifically designed for dynamic applications in harsh and corrosive environments.
Harbour crane

Quiet e-chain in RMG crane

Since this container crane is located alone at a terminal and in the immediate vicinity of a residential area, the energy chain used must be particularly quiet and fail-safe.
